I sent my LMR 400 out to have the pl 259's put on correctly by my tec. who I know will do it correctly and delete one more problem that may cause me to go nuts

if I get high SWR readings and have to go nuts trying to track down the problem chances would be if it was caused by a bad pl 259 it would be one I attempted to install.

. I was having a problem with my favorite fs 2340's delta tune. It needed to be turned all the way to the plus side in order to get stations on frequency. Snd a slight problem with the squelch. Both my other delta tunes are dead center and if a stations on their on. So I figured I get that out also. He did fix it.

I also decided to purchase one of Bob's electret d104 replacement elements. For the mic I use on my Madison.

I sent my tec the everyday tup9 stand but kept the silver eagle head that sounds great with that stand and sent another silver eagle head that works fine but since i took it off my backup tup9 stand I figured if I dont like the way bobs element sounds I wouldn't sacrifice my everyday user that I know sounds nice.

Now before he installed bobs replacement element he.Checked out my stand to make sure all was good, wiring wise.

Now let me remind you this is my everyday tup9 stand that i use with the silver eagle head i held on too.

I get excellent unsaliseted audio reports with this stand just the way it's pictured. Wow! A miracle it even worked. It's all done up nice and neat now but this is what he found. 20150724_211702.jpg

A picture speaks volumes. I've owned this mic for a while and it's incredibly because out Of the seven or eight silver eagles I own wired for five pin uniden Madison's i chose this one after trying about three because every report I asked for came back "sounds excellent" so I've been using it for 6 months now, and stuck with this one without a single issue. I'm sure it's been owned by many different people through out the years and have no idea who or when that soldering job was done but who knows, now that it's been resoldered to perfection i may discover that it actually wasn't working to it's full potential.
