If you're old enough you can remember when things "Made in Japan" meant cheap junk. Now we'd love to have goods from Japan instead of Shanghai.
I would disagree with this when it comes to vintage stereo equipment. From 1975-1985 Japan built some of the best stereo stuff ever made. And most all of it still works today.

Well I scored an "old" new china C25 with a real selector for cheap. 2014 vintage.I
If I'm not mistaken, all of those have gone to an encoder. The encoder isn't so simple to replace with the normal channel selector either as you'd have to have the whole pcb and wiring. I'm not so sure if the wiring is even the same. Best bet is to get an old radio to replace that one or get used to the encoder.

This isn't correct. Uniden informed Cobra they were through making their radios. Cobra then partnered with Ranger I believe?Cobra was done the minute they dumped Uniden. It's all crap since.
