I was in contact with Rogerbird today and with his permission, I want to pass this along to the members here.
These are like gold to those of us who like this series of radios.
He has a limited number of new Chipswitches and sockets for sale.
He will also install and align the radio.
You can contact him at
Rogerbird1 at Aim.com
This is hands down the best addition to these radios I have ever used and Roger knows these radios well.
His hr2510 mods pages has been a go to for years.

I am going to bet these will not last long.

Yeah the Chipswitch is awesome. Loved the memory channel bank and being able to scan them. Years ago when local CB was still big with a lot of locals, was great scanning all the local channels / frequencies. I definitely prefer these radios with the Chipswitch!

Always wanted another for my mobile 2510, but being I don’t really use radio anymore, I can’t justify spending money on it. Wish they were for sale 10+ years ago, would have bought a chip for sure, I constantly looked for them over the years and never could find any bargains on them, always crazy prices on eBay when they popped up, sadly they come back when I have no use for it. I’ll be sad years from now I missed out on this. :ROFLMAO:

Adds some great features though, I’d highly recommend one if you use one of these radios!

The Chipswitch is $80 and I can do the Chipswitch install for $45. that includes a socket and alignment.

That totals $125 plus shipping

He did my HR2600 aligned/installed the chipswitch and works excellent after 21 years in the closet (y)

I would love to get one of each. I hope I am not too late. My President Lincoln is close to perfect but would be even better with 12m added to it!

Just another example of People Like What They Like and it's all good. I had one back in the day w/ Chipswitch and all the mods in the universe. Cute little radios but today they're so old and only 25 watts unless you do a little something to squeeze a few more watts out of them. I don't see the point on such an old and low power radio.
