Atta boy Chong :D I knew you could do it sir!!! Enjoy your new priviledges! I know they're somewhat limited, but you'll still have a blast.
Just don't forget our 11-meter friends out there! I still do 11-meters myself.Just can't leave it.Too much fun IMO!
Congrats.Slim CDX285

yep

o i wont forget the 11 meter band if i did i wouldnt talk to cheech or anyone else i talk to. theres 1 other ham on the 11 meter channel i talk on me and him are gonna start talking and setting stuff up as soon as i get some stuff lol peace - Chong

very cool and congradulations chong
is much easier using what are smaller antennas
(as compared to 11 meters)

my GP-9 talks (barefoot off my radios) a good 50 to 400 miles before any skip factors (simplex i am refering to)
even my HT's get 40 to 70 miles into some machines with only HT high gain dual or tri band anteena's

on a semi related subject
many know of chongs recent issues and we all were sad indeed for him

a friend of mine KC2MMC (terry)
his father.brother and nephu were killed this past saturday
by a driver on meds
the guy was supposedly on way to see a doctor
was driving on infamous queens blvd in Q Gardens

terry's Dad,brother and nepheu died instantly
the driver on meds had aparently struct them while they were waitting on a red light..
the driver is in critical condion
and as turns out he had his son with him who is also hospitalised

this is the guy i helped pass his ticket couple of years ago
in the midst of all his greif
he offered to come by to do some shopping for me
for he knows how badly i get hit when bronkitis takes hold

it is a shame such a nice person got his world turned upside down over night

i will post this elsewhere
although he does not have easy internet access
anyone in nyc/nj area who is active on the various repeaters
i am sure know and have spoken with him
