Finally found a buyer for our house and we got the check this morning! Florida is an overcrowded ghetto and it was time to abandon ship. Seems like the worst of the worst are moving here and it's a shame, Florida used to be an environmental gem...no more.
The imbecile scumbag politicians approved a Black Bear hunt in October.....what kind of coward shoots a Florida black bear? They are afraid of humans unless a female has cubs or a jackass human feeds them or invades their habitat with subdivisions.
I hate land developers and animal abusers with a passion. Crime rate is busting loose from the influx of illegals so the sale couldn't have made me more relieved.

Maybe they need some population control. Black bear hunting has been legal in California...forever. The meat tastes pretty good, too.

I don't care for bear meat. It just seems too fatty and greasy to me. We have bear season up here but the bear population is getting out of hand. Someone took a picture of one just last week right in the middle of town here. There have been several bear sightings around here lately.

I do agree that they generally run and often they see you without you even seeing them but it still amazes me how many people freak out about a bear sighting.

Black bears are becoming a problem here in Jersey, they've been steadily spreading into developed areas. As time goes on they get accustomed to people and then all the usual old tricks used to chase them off don't work anymore.

It's not the Bears that is the issue. We are invading their territory! The fact is more and more subdivisions are popping up around Central Florida like the wildfires of 98!! Physco, hate to see at leave, where were you located?? I'm pretty happy still here where I am in Port Orange, but it has grown tremendously as well since we moved here from Daytona back in 91. Daytona used to be nice in a lot of areas, then you know what happened, and it all went to shit!! We moved to Panama City for a about 1.5yrs but that was back in 89 when there wasn't shit there. Now you can see the beach from all the condos. Same here around Daytona. Condos everywhere and most empty!! Couldn't hardly give them away at one point. It was 2 for one I remeber lol. At any rate, sorry to hear you had to leave and hope all works out for you and yours. Keep warm and keep the wood stacked as it gets cold where you're headed. Safe journey man!!!

And to be clear I gotta agree, Physco, who in the hell is gonna kill a FL black bear?? What you gonna do after you kill it? They stink like hell and aren't very fat, hair isn't very thick so a good rug wouldn't be an option. And like CK said, unless you got a craving for some tough ass bear meat what are they gonna do with tnem after they are killed. Cut the head off and mount it I guess is the best I can think of. What a waste of a good animal!! Close the borders now and stop the influx, that will help resolve the bear issue LOL!!!
