What is the Max power rating with this pigtail ?
It would be neat to use this type of feedline in the mobile.

looks very much like what a frind mine uses in his truck, i do not know the power he puts out but he ha a galaxay 98 vhp and runs that into a 8 pill fatboy high drive linear. if i had to guess i would say he is running 900-1100 watts and he has had no issues with the coax at all.

may not be the answer you were looking for though.

Thank you. But I forgot to say for what band. Vhf and uhf and shf is what I want to use. Currently running lmr400 and its a pain in the mobile would like to remove it and use the thin stuff.

I know you won't like this answer but........look at the type of coax cable it is and look it up. The type will be printed on it. WARNING!!!!! YOU MAY HAVE TO USE GOOGLE!!!!! We have no way of knowing what type cable it is but all YOU have to do is look at it and look up the specs for it.While your at it look up the specs for that SMA connector as well. It likely won't handle as much power as the cable. :bdh:

Ill be dammed didn't even think of that! gee willykers! Here's the info http://www.wellshow.com/products/rf-coaxial-cables/rg-coaxial-cable/rg316-coaxial-cable/

IF ANYONE is USING this TYPE of coax Via MOBILE with a UHF or VHF radio. Would you recommend this coax or just use LMR-400? IMO it sure is convenient to use this feedline instead of lmr400 via mobile. & since i am installing 7 more NMO mounts i was thinking of using the smaller wire...output power on each mount will not exceed 25w

That's OK. We will train you to think for yourself eventually.

Here is a better chart showing actual power handling ability.

I have one that looks a lot like that one and it uses rg400 cable on it......good for more power than I will ever run.
What is the O.D. of the cable?
You will find that it is very good coax, just do not bend it in a real tight bend.

Yeah I believe that cable may be teflon and it is tough as far as impact and abrasion resistance but it does not like to be kinked at all.

BTW my Diamond mount/cable assembly has the same RG-316 cable and I have run 250 watts through it on HF and 100 watts on 6m and 50 watts on 2m/70cm without an issue. Your 25 watts is WELL within the ability of the cable.

See if I had told you that up front you would not have that warm fuzzy feeling of having found out something for yourself. :D

That looks just like my cable assembly except for the SMA connector. Mine has a special type connector like a mini UHF connector that screws into a regular UHF adapter. It makes running the cable easier when not having to pull the PL-259 connector thru the vehicle. It looks like this.
