Cobra 148 GTL INTL

Thanks mechanic, mine needed some good old receive alignment and I took it over to mr. Nomad radio and he got it taken care of...

73's, Retro

Looking at the inside photos between the two radios, the boards are very similar, but many differences can also be seen. A spin off indeed, but not a clone by any means.
Brazil sells them for 742 Brazlian Real. That converts to about $228 U.S.

No frequency counter and no plug in option? You need the piece of paper taped to the top the old school way to tell what frequency you are on I guess :)

Why didn't they make it like the 148F and then at least you'd know where you were.

I agree, the Cobra 148F-GTL would have been a far more logical choice. The thing that bothers me more is the fact that the circuit board in the INTL version doesn’t have any relation whatsoever to Cobra’s 148 line up. In this case, Cobra is simply playing off of the 148’s reputation of dependability. The average customer that buys into that ruse is actually getting something totally different. It would be nice if Cobra was more honest about that model by giving it a different number.
