Hello guys need help with 1992 cobra 148gtl PC-412AG looking for part number to d-78 thanks as some schematics I have researched do not have it thanks.

d78 did not register and I searched and only found up to d76. not a D78. even looked in the sams and did not find it. what section is it located in? you might try a 1n4148 and see if it works. most are 1s1588 and they will change to a 1n4148.

I got to thinking about the tr296 rci radio that has the same board as a cobra 148. it has the diode D78 diode. it is a 1n4003 diode. the same as D55 the protection diode. it is a black diode with the band on the end as you mentioned. the tr296 has the same board in it as a cobra 148. only a little newer than most 148 5 pin radios.
here is the service manual for the 296 radio. the board will be the same as in your radio . just incase you want to look at the schematics and manual.

@ Geoexplorer69:Coax question. I just put up a new Sirio monsoon base antenna with 100’ of rg8u coax testing with myMFJ antenna analyzer shows 1.4 swr at 26.965mhz and a 1.1 at 27.405 mhz . When I checked the ohms it’s steady a 30 ohms across the entire bandwidth.
