here's the story, i brought a cobra 148fgtl on ebay a while back, received the radio, surposed to have extra channels, well no !! surposed to be super tuned !! hahaha !! no !!! after a few days radio starts going haywire, so i put it up for sale here on the forum, moleculo buys it 
now moleculo works his golden screwdriver and turns this hacked up POS into a audio machine, not only that but radio has a fantastic receive ...........
testing conditions : astron power supply ( 14.6 volts )
antron 99 ( swr at 1:1 to 1 )
stock mic
results : am mode ( 4 watts rms, 18 watts average, 23 watts peak )
ssb ( 28 watts average talk, normal voice, stock mic )
radio checks from base to mobile at a distance from 18 to 22 miles signal reports of S-3 TO S-7 FROM VALLEY TO HILLTOP
to sum it up, a fantastic tune and great job all the way around !!!
