Hello guys i have aligned my cobra 148gtl to spec, here is an issue the meter does not pick up recieve i even swapped meters. Any help would be great.
Thanks for advice,do you think the final has to do with the RF issue? Its also missing r131 thanks. Also my swr calibrate works as well as the swr reading so is just the receive issue.Might be the quad op amp, the S/RF switch, or a diode in that circuit - first blush.
You will need a voltmeter. a sig/gen, and a schematic to track it down.
it sounds like you are saying that the meter itself works, as in you can key the mic and it moves over toward the right in the CAL and SWR positions of that switch, but when you are in the S/RF switch position, that the meter does not respond. Thanks for advice,do you think the final has to do with the RF issue? Fixed the issue had 2 bad inductors L7 and L8 replaced them and retuned all is good now thank you.it sounds like you are saying that the meter itself works, as in you can key the mic and it moves over toward the right in the CAL and SWR positions of that switch, but when you are in the S/RF switch position, that the meter does not respond.
is that correct?
if you key the mic in the S/RF position, will the needle move to the right or not?

I missed typed my problem ,it was aligned already when i bought it, i looked over the schematic and started testing the inductors and those 2 inductors where bad when i pulled them out they had corrstion on the pins so i replaced them and it worked agian.sorry for miss informstionhow did you know they were bad?
your first post said you had aligned the radio, which would not have been possible if those coils were bad.
im confused.

Since they clipped R131 that should speak volumes about the alignment quality.
