Hello im looking for 148gtl phillipine made board is pc-412 , i have tryed cb tricks but does not match lots of parts thanks.im looking to recap this radio as well lots of caps do not match the values on cb tricks thanks.

I am with Robb on this ,what ones are in the locations you say are not the same. 33uf is a odd cap. I do not even have that cap in my parts bins. even went to a few sellers and that cap does not even show up on somes list of parts they carry. if the sellers on the auction site have them they look fairly old. I even checked the parts list from cobra and only found disk caps at 33pf. did not find any 33uf electro caps.

Both the TRC-448 and the TRC-458 radios I've worked on use the 33uf value cap on their boards. Doesn't seem to be used much anymore for whatever reasons.

Why your 148 should have it in there is probably due to the fact that someone needed to replace a value and just simply used the closest value they had that would still do the job. It is too much if a 20uf cap was needed, and too little if a 47uf cap was called for. Would it work just the same? Probably; but I would use the value that was required by the engineers as designed. However, there are places on the 148 board that can and do need different values than what the engineers called for.

yes Mike you may have some but I do not and none of my radios I have recapped needed a 33uf. just seems to be a odd value. maybe some of the real old radios used it. I have recapped some old teaberry radios and they did not use this cap.

OK I read the schematic from Rick Jackson and the 47uf was used in the early versions and 330 uf was put in the later versions. it is in the audio chain and should be 16 volt or higher.if you look at the schematic Rick drew for cbtricks it tells you later versions has the 330uf 16 volt. it will give a little more audio. all the 10 volts must be changed to 16 volts or higher also. do not know if you have that info. helps when you give the location of such parts.
