So I picked up 3 cobra 2000 GTL's at an auction.
The first on seams to transmit and receive fine, It has extra channels in it.
I did notice channels 34-40 are not there 1- 33 seem normal when I hit 34 and up this is what I have. Also 34-40 1-2 watt transmit and hardly no modulation as well...... Any thoughts?
34 =26.0650
35 = 26.0750
36 = 26.0850
37 = 26.0950
38 = 26.1050
39 = 26.1150
40 =26.1250

Probably all of them will need to be re-capped and looked over for any obvious burnt or broken components. Then a factory alignment would be in order. All the variable controls and switches might need some cleaner/lube as well. The tech can look the channel mod over to see how it was done and go from there. And then during this entire process another surprise or two might pop up and need fixed. Still a good buy as long as you didn't have to pay crazy money for them.

The channel frequencies you list are exactly 128 channels below what they should be. Since 128 is the 7th power of two, this suggests an issue with the hookup in the radio's PLL circuit. The PLL chip's binary input from the channel switch is a 7-bit binary number.

First, I'll guess that the original MB8734 PLL chip has been changed to a MB8719 type. The original 8734 device is a restricted version that won't expand easily.

A typical 'extra channel' conversion will be wired to the PA or NB or ANL switches. Or sometimes to additional toggle switches added to the radio.

You might try flipping the radio's front-panel switches around to see if it changes the counter reading.
