seems the meter on my Corbra 21 has taken a dump. radio receives and transmits fine just meter isn't lit or functioning . Any ideas where I can find a replacement and what kind of job is it to replace. Thanks for any advice !

The meter will be rather similar to a newer Cobra 21LTD meter if my memory serves, if not identical. You will likely need to remove the knobs and faceplate to remove and replace the meter.

If you hooked the bulb up exactly where it was hooked before, then I might suspect a bad bulb even if new. But that is assuming the old bulb was even hooked up to the correct points within the radio. I would test the bulb for continuity with an ohm meter to be sure it is good. If it is, then it may need to end up being mounted to the proper spots. Problem is, I would not know where that is on that model. All I have is a couple 29XLR’s.

you know i really thought i had the wires correct, but now i have 2nd thoughts I was hoping some one might have some kind of diagram showing position of wires.
I do know i have one correct as it's on the circuit board and i removed old wire, the other was on the back of one of the switches . I had a friend offer me a cobra 21 parts radio but the meter was different and didn't have separate light wires.
