Some roger beeps such as the 5 tone by Workman have an orange wire that when grounded, turns off the beep, yet allows the transmission thru because if you killed the 12 VDC source, you'd not be able to transmit. Other beep boards, such as the Workman single beep, don't have this function, but I believe will still let the transmission thru if you kill the 12 VDC via an inline switch....it's been a while since I sold off my beep boards so my memory may be a bit cloudy.

And yes some folks here think RB is a dumb idea, but don't fret it....they're the same ones who think echo is cool or they shelled out $$ for a Big Betty Connex because touching the boob knobs is as close as they'll ever get to touching any boobs besides their own.
