Hey gang, I remember reading on the forum about changing the squelch on a cobra 29 so it doesn't fade in when squelch breaks and fade out when engaged, kinda annoying to some folks. Instead, there was a mod to make it like a galaxy squelch, like a hard break. I can't find it anywhere. I think it was just adding a resistor or capacitor somewhere but I don't remember. Anyone know what I'm talking about, or did I lose another marble?

I found it, I think, on grumpy's forum, but the link is broken. I did the mod over a year ago and it really did help the squelch action. Here is the old link. I also checked the way-back machine, no luck.

Also, on the radioreference forum, someone mentions increasing c147, that may be the mod I'm looking for. I will look into it, the schematic and my notes.

So I have a cobra 138xlr and the meter dose not work... It dose not key up and signal dose not work.... It is not stuck it the meter moves freely. now wires are resoldered on both ends...So now that do I look at. Could it be a diode or a transistor?
