Amazing what you can do with the 91/30 for not a lot of $$ . Cheaper Than dirt lists the black polymer stock @ $165. Bipod and glass of choice...

Cousin in eastern Washington used one as a desert rifle. 600 yards plus once he got it to hold zero. (I'll spare you the details). 7.62 x 54R is a viable long range cartridge. The 1 in 9.5" (1 in 10 according to some) will stabilize Prvi Partizan 182gr but the 200gr plus weights are a rifle to rifle question. Although the 146 through 150gr may be the most available , my opinion is 175gr may be the sweet spot.

Sierra 180 gr .311" SP 2310 bullet and IMR 4895, 50.5 gr. to start ~ 53 gr. is a compressed load. OAL should allow for at least .002" jump into the rifling to avoid pressure spikes.
