I know lots of folks hate this antenna.
But I was really shocked today when I was comparing the CHA-250B to that of my ATA120A screwdriver antenna on my truck and trying to access a 6M repeater north of me.
My truck with the ATAS could hit the repeater just fine with about S9 and full quieting.
On the CHA-250B, I couldn't hit the repeater...go figure.
Parked in my driveway, the screwdriver antenna gets in just fine. The CHA-250B mounted at a higher elevation...and no love.
I know the CHA-250B is a compromise antenna, but I was really shocked today when I did a side by side comparison.
Now for other bands...it appears to work better than the mobile antenna. But conditions were changing too fast to make a real assessment.
