computer interferance

My hp computer is causing interferance on my radio..ft857, runs s9 on 80, s6 on 40, and then tapers a bit on the other bands.
I have turned it off, still interferance, and have to unplug it to get reception.

Any ideas..guys

Look through some of the postings here. http://www.eham.net/forums/RFI You said you turned the computer off. Did you also turn the monitor off? Some individuals have had issues with hash from their monitors. Hope this helps!

yeah uplug the monitor and be sure it isn't the monitor first.

Otherwise, sounds like the switching power supply in the PC.

You can try replacing it with an up-line supply by Antec or any of the better companies. It's sort of hit or miss.

tell us about your antenna

A wireless mouse or keyboard will do it.

Isolate devices one at a time (shut stuff off) and you might find the source.

I will check the monitor, and the wireless mouse might be the culprit, I am using one, will report tomorrow

Ahh wireless mice, many of them are right at 27MHz...good call.
