I purchased a Connex 4600 turbo a while back and had nitro lights installed by Bob’s Cb. I noticed that the nitro lights go out whenever the chassis is grounded in any way such as mounting or connecting the coax. The radio works great even with this happening. I tried relocating the black and blue wires from the nitro lights to a different power source on the radio board with the same results. With the radio just sitting on the work bench with no mount or coax all the nitro lights work. There is a small current draw of about .600 milliamperes that is taking place when the chassis is grounded causing the lights to go out.
They are actually Stryker lights and not Nitro.
There’s no dimmer control or voltage regulator involved. Only a 2.2k resistor on the power line which is fine.
Yes they worked when I first got the radio and nothing regarding the installation has changed. Can someone point me in the right direction.
Yes Bob’s Cb would fix it no charge but I don’t feel like making the 4 hour drive round trip or mailing it in.
Thanks
Brad
