I found one of these for sale near me. Guy is asking $90. It's the radio w/o bracket or cord. He's also selling 2 mics separate, and offered me the radio with both mics for $100. One of the mics is an Astatic 575-M6. The other is a Cobra.

I can't find much on this radio other than it's an older model, single final radio. It has the separate echo and time. It's NOT the typical 3300HP that are more common.

One problem, is I cannot test out the radio unless I can come up with a power cord, and there are no CB shops or truck stops where I am at now.

You think he's asking a fair price for everything?

Also what kind of numbers does the 3300 put out? And is it a talker like the 3300HP and/or the General Lee?

its a good price with the astatic mic. they get pretty good money still on ebay.

a nice shape 575 goes for 100.00 or more on ebay .the better the condition the better the price .
if its a standard 3300 (not the hp) it should swing into the 20`s peak wise .i have seen some swing 30 on a single final but any good single final should swing into the 20`s .

if he cannot prove it works make him a lower offer and buy it for the 575 alone if thats in good shape .then if the radio does work its like you got a bonus.

good luck

ps- yes they can be great talkers .

If it takes a standard 3 pin power cord, you can buy one for about $3-$4. They are on ebay or any CB shop online. It would be worth checking out. Those 575M6 mics are going for a mint on ebay, if they work. If you lived close to me, I'd give you a power cord so you could check it out. I a few lying around.

Thought I would give an update.....

I ended up getting the radio for $75 and the 575-M6 mic for $15. The radio has a burned out meter lamp and needed a.cleaning. And as mentioned, the radio did not come with a power cord or a mounting bracket.

The mic needed a new battery and in the process of replacing the battery, the battery plug broke. The mic also needed a good cleaning.

But the good news is both the mic and the radio work. On my meter on high the radio dead keys about 8 and swings to almost 30. I guess this is not bad considering the 1:4 ratio. However on low the radio dead keys at 3.5 and swings to the same as if the radio were on high.

One of my gripes is I have found when the echo is turned.on, so is the talkback. So far I have yet to find a way to turn off the talkback when the echo is on to prevent the talkbackbsqueal blues. Anyone have any good ideas on how to turn off the talback but not the echo?

Any time you run a power mic with an old school Galaxy or Connex you will get talk-back feedback. That's why shops would do talkback mods to quiet it down. That is also why Magnum was the first to come out with All Mode Variable talkback.

As is the only way you can get rid of the feedback and still run heavy on the mic gain is get a Road King 56 mic.

For the time being, if I kept the talkback off, it shouldn't squeal, correct?

Also what can I do to disable the talkback during the echo?

Not sure, back in the day the only quick fix was turn the mic gain way way down. You might try an external speaker and face it away from the mic.
