Copwatch

Good Post..
too many people...
Do Not (and or) care not.. to Know their Rights.and do Not Know how to assert them properly..in a manor that is safest to themselves.

People need to take responsibility to the Rights they have.
It is Not hard to do (though at times it can require more effort to do)

Anytime i am stopped by a cop..
Be it in a car or walking where ever..
i Video the happening as well as Assert my Rights !!

The problem I have is that a lot of these videographers will intentionally put themselves in a situation that they normally will not do if they do not have a camera for the sole purpose of "asserting their rights". In those cases they become the instigators in a situation that would have otherwise never have happened. Sure some cops break the law sometimes but being all up in a cops face because he asks you for your ID is being an asshole looking for trouble just so he can feel justified in asserting his rights. There are several reasons of safety why a cop wants to know the name of the individual he is dealing with not the least of which is wants and warrants as well as cautions of violence on record. I have no problem bringing police wrong doings to light but don't go looking for trouble in the guise of asserting your rights.

Very well stated and I agree.
