Chill is for the wise.

1). Walk the neighborhood and ask the worthy neighbors if interested in having ears.

2) Set up a demo dipole sloper in the front yard. Fluorescent colors. Not hooked up. But, a sign explaining cost and performance.

3). Invite those interested to divide into two groups. Take turns running the X-miles radius that AM then sideband will travel from your base to your mobile.

4) Get out the BIG hammer and thwack some phone poles. Inundate the power company with noise abatement requests. You sure as hell have the time.

5). I’m sure more and better ideas have occurred to you more experienced men. Act.

6). I haven’t finished my, “MOBILE INSTALL: 579 Peterbilt”, thread. But I’m close. I hit up drivers I run into at loading & unloading locations where time hangs heavy. AM + SSB. Try to make a persuasive argument. There’ll be an equipment, tools and supplies list once I’m “done”. Factory truck with no serious changes.

TELEVISION has been the most poisonous article ever introduced to your life and your family’s.

Q: Why is CB considered a joke?

For in truth some of the smartest men who’ve ever lived have been involved in radio.

Your Enemy — who owns TV & Hollywood lock, stock & barrel — teaches you disrespect. Bad attitude.

The HAMs who disparage CB are embarrassingly easy to humiliate. As they haven’t a good set of clues of how to help a lowly truck driver get some reasonably good performance out of a company truck. Hell, a pickup. (Stuffed shirts, you know the type).

I certainly know little. Have learned quite a bit compared to where I started. But it wouldn’t fill a jigger.

This enemy action is easy to see from the inside of something where one has devoted himself. Many pursuits and jobs.

But the Enemy has his snares everywhere. And I doubt any of us have evaded many of them.

Play to your strength.

Cancellation of radio events DUE TO PROXIMITY? Is my leg being pulled? Is this a comedy skit? An Affirmative Action Directive?

What IS Radio?

Well, a millionaire came around today
And started throwin' dollar bills away
While everyone was grabbin'
Where was I? -- Home nappin'!
That's why today I'm eatin' hay and clay.

'Cause everybody got some but me.
Everybody got some but me.
Shorty and Bill and Gimpy and Lil.
Everybody but me.

So I said, a'I don't mind bein' poor,
'Cause I have a woman so sweet, demure and pure.
And she's innocent and mild as a newborn child."
Till someone asked me, "Buddy, are you sure?"

It seems everybody got some but me.
Everybody got some but me.
Shorty and Bill and Gimpy and Lil.
Everybody but me.

So that's the way my world keeps goin' round,
But I keep smilin' even though I'm down;
And whoever would have suspected
That sweet thing was infected,
And there's an epidemic in this town.

And everybody got some but me.
Yeah, everybody's got some but me.
Shorty and Bill and Gimpy and Lil,
And pretty soon the rest of you will
Yes, everybody got some but me.

Start my miserable trip to West Virginia, sometime early Monday morning. My company emailed all of us letters explaining we are essential workers of the oil and gas industry and to keep this letter on us through our our travels. Don't know how the rest of my crew feels but I'm a little worried about the trip, I've been trying to practice social distancing, but in a 17hr drive you have to pump gasoline and venture into a store here and there and I can't help but wonder how many infected people have use the same gas pump. Guess I'll just have to use a lot of hand sanitizer and hope for the best, I've got to work because my wife cuts hair and they've been shut down for who knows how long, so right now it's just my income and the way the oilfield is going that might not be long.

Sitting outside since 9 pm, 22 minutes now and have not heard a vehicle pass out on Hwy. No cars moving in neighborhood behind me. Odd for a Saturday night.

Talked with old friend in Hammond, La., and he reported that it was a ghost town. But no curfew like here. Said he went for a walk last night, no one else was about. He lives few blocks from downtown, and three from police station. Not even cops were out.

I've locked the gate and sprayed all fence posts with purple paint. Wind is almost still, cool, and only noises come from my dog dragging his chain across the porch.

Small spray bottle, clorox, and 10x water.
Pretty sure those are available still.

Quiet around here. Stay At Home Order by the governor for the next month kicks in this coming Monday. Closest town is 8 miles away. Curfew in place there from 9pm until 5am. No gathering of over 10 people inside or outdoors.

Pretty sure the gun stores are closed now since “not essential” o_O

Can still travel out for essential business like groceries, hardware, drugstore and a couple other things.

Not as many things in grocery stores. Saw gas yesterday at $1.39 gallon.

According to the news reports folks excited about getting some of that “free gov’mnt money” deposited in their bank account. Seems to me if the government has access to personal accounts to make deposits they can sure as hell easily make withdrawals. WTF

This direct deposit only occurs for those who've chosen direct deposit of things like Social Security retirement income, SSI, Income Tax refunds, etc. Otherwise, there will be other means of getting the funds to people.

Evening news noticed a report on Florida installing check points on highways. At least one on I-95 recorded in report. Florida Gov. stated he believes that Gov. Cuomo of NY is right in saying there needs to be a quarenteen. o_O Never liked Florida when I lived there......it's the most southern yankee state. Remember explaining to friends why it's not ideal, due to being a peninsula and easily cordoned off. Running away from hurricanes proved so. I see the idea behind the check points but feel state Gov't overreach and violations of rights. This is not a natural disaster with need to control to stop looting. Thankfully, they came around to decreeing that the firearms industry is essential business. ;)

I heard that they are going to use the census to pay people's money to the property owner where they live. So if you own your own home, you get it. If you rent, the landlord gets it for the back rent. Just a rumour that I heard.
