This is the second story I've read of a city mayor doing this. First, was an Illinois city, and now New Orleans. I was suprized because I remember what happened post Katrina. Major rights violations. 2nd amendment violations. Seems a Democrat will do anything or use any reason to disarm the US citizens.

Red , Iv'e never eaten a Duck Egg . I throw them @ tree's or leave them for critters I can shoot @ ( Ie , Raccons & Damn Possums ) Possums are a PIA here for me . I was told they are good for baking ? Never tried that either ! Just me I guess ? I "might" Have to try one ?

Nasty little buggers. People sure eat them, but they’re one primitive creature to me. Anything that can soak up 22 body shots all day and barely flinch isn’t going on my table.

Yum, opossum pie. Best if cultivated exiting the southern end of dead north bound cow. Pre-marinade.

Back when Katrina hit New Orleans, Mayor Ray Nagen pulled that stunt. St. Tammany Parrish pulled it also. Confiscated weapons from those who needed them most. Federal prosecutors dropped the hammer hard on those infringing on 2nd Ammendment. Nagen is still in jail.

Friend of mine in Guard was on chopper flight over city rt after storm. Baaad juju. They could not perform rescue at that time. Took small arms fire around dark. I asked how they responded......unofficially, he told me they opened up the 50 briefly, said it was like watching cockroaches run when you turn the lights on.

It was a war zone. New Orleans east had gangs killing gangs. One gang took out a large vietnamese family and proceed east to the Hwy. 11 bridge, only way in and out of NO. They tried to lay siege to the bridge.

Sherriff called Guard. Guard with no authority called Fed. Fed sent 3 Blackhawks. One Air Cap, one each side of bridge. Running gun battle between gang and sheriff/guard.

In 9 seconds flat, 11 were dead from shooters in choppers. Remington 700's. Two shooters each chop. Gun fight over.

The rest made way west. When they got to NO East the Vietnamese gunned the rest of them down.

Then Nagen issued that order. Guard would not confiscate most cases. Only asked if guns present. Tho there were some cases where they did, and guardsmen could not believe they were doing it.
