Ok, who out there still has an radio that had the mod limiter cut, swing kit, and blessed by the golden screwdriver and it actually sounds OK on the receiving end- no one has ever complained that you actually do talk on channels 18, 19, 20 at the same time. I remember my first radio I had peaked & tuned. Sparky's CB Shack did it up for me. Sparky liked old CBs. I remember he would say that he did not clip mod limiters, however he would not tell you that he would cut the trace on the back of the board. Granted it was a poorly tuned radio, but i never remember anyone saying it sounded bad. He sold he an Astatic RD 104, used with it for a while, til I found the a Lafayette microphone that went to it. I was using a clipped radio with a power mic when I first got into CB. We all live and learn a better way. A few years back, I had the radio's clip job repaired and tuned to 4 watts swing to whatever. Donated it to a local police department for their mobile scales unit.
