CW Practice Key

So i bought this and i am not sure how to work it.... i know that headphones or as speaker hooks to where u can see two wires i have installed which is hooked to my surround sound a battery plugs in and i am not sure why i am just getting tick noises....scratchy sounds....HELP!

on the bottom is a resistor and some wires connected... nothing too complicated
 

Try it with nothing connected. It looks like a buzzer to me.

haha your right i just have to find the right setting "contact" oin that little screw and the thin flat metal viberates making a cool beep sound
 
Looks cool. I have a friend that has something real similar to that. But not exactly like it. The guy that I know that has it told me on his. You use the screw downs for hooking to your xceiver like a normal key. Then he uses his by itself as a practice key. The striker in the center makes the clicks on his it hear what u are doing. I hope that helps but I bet it don't .

Yup, my mistake I thought it beeped on a speaker. Once I buy another tranciever after I pass the general this summer ill hook it up to the new radio.

It even has that Vintage sound to it! Which ill be changing later tonight.
 
I believe if you disconnect that blue wire and then connect the 2 posts to your ham/cb radio you can communicate with others in the hobby.
