I was wondering the same; since they are now a "democracy", can he tie this up in appeals until he dies of old age like he could here??

I believe what they said today was that it goes before a 7 member appeals court to review. If the verdict stands the execution must be done within 30 days. They issued a statement that to not confuse the court system in Iraq with the US legal system.

I wonder if there will be someone trying to break him out ? He is locked up in the guarded "green zone" but with 3 defense lawyers able to be killed it shows the "green zone" isn't totally secure.

It's good to see they got a guilty verdict. Although it'd have been hard not to. Oh wait, the Democratic party, had they been the entire jury, would have aquitted him of all charges, and went after the Republicans for causing him to do everything he did...

This is for sure one of those Exceptions
