DENSON 240 alternator

hi ya all,for you all that know me,yes i"m still working on getting my equipment set up in my new truck.thinking of running a dual bracket for my on the shelf 200 amp alt.didn"t pan out for a seperate electrical supply for my batteries in back of truck.

i decided to go with a bigger alternator for the truck that can handle the trucks many electrical doodads and give my batts the power they need when i unkey my amp and motor maul.its a DENSON 240 alternator.the company says it will put out a continuos 200 amps.using a motor maul i shouldn"t have a problem.has anyone here ever used one of these alts before?with shipping it cost me $509.95.

The whole idea of the Motor Maul is not to need a big alternator.
That is an excessive price for an alternator.

Spend your money on the batteries, if you are going to do the "Motor Maul" thing.
(for the Maul)

What is your vehicle, make, model, year, etc?

Btw, it is DENSO, not DENSON

hey bud,i already ordered the alt.i do understand what your say a about using a maul and not needing a big alt.the thing is when draining my red top optima batts,(yes, big deep cell marine batts would be better)while putting out over 2000 watts i just wanted to make sure i"ll have a alt.that will put the juice back in them.i don"t want to wear out the stock alt.and then be dead in the water on the road.

believe me,i checked over a zillion sites for alts.and after almost giving up i found thiis one from washington.in a year or two i might move up from a 2x8 to maybe a 16 pill or 32 pill.this truck has so much electrical goings on and using that stk.alt.would worry me.my truck is a 2003 dodge ram 1500 larimi,4x4,quadecab,V8,5.7L hemi magnum.
