6m performance wasn't working very well, so i took it apart to check it out. the top coil threads into the rest of the antenna, my guess is each turn in the thread affects the swr match for 6m (i could be wrong).
Here is what it looks like taken apart before i put it back together.

The reason the 6m performance is poor on that antenna is quite simply because it is a poor antenna on 6m. Pretty much like running a one inch high antenna on 2m. There is NO substitute for size when it comes to antennas.

Where can I get a 6m mono sma ant ?
 
Well you could always Google for the answer.:tt2: If you really want performance then get away from HT's. They are for convenience and NOT performance. Get a mobile/base radio and a decent MOBILE or BASE antenna and not worry about shitty performance. You just cannot have an HT that will perform well on 6m unless you use a decent mobile or better yet a base antenna.
