Anyone have any experience with this meter or any of the Diamond meter's?

I'm in the market for a new meter and asking for opinions. Thanx!

RT431,
I have a Diamond SX-400 for 2m and 440. Had it for about 25 years or so. Never a problem with it. Can't remember the initial cost but did buy it new.
I have often thought of getting another for HF but............................I need another HF meter like Undertaker needs another radio, or mike, or antenna(y)(Love you Bobby!)

I have had the Diamond SX-1000 for a LOOOONG time and love it. It is accurate but do not believe the pep function. It is just a capacitor that holds the meter higher and has no active powered pep circuit. Other than that it has been a GREAT meter.

My SX-400 will not work in the PEP mode without power applied (through the wall wart).

Hmmmm. SX-1000.....SX-400? But I have only had mine since 1993. Not such a LOOOONG time as CK.(y)

Regardless, I like the SX-400. It is compact (doesn't take up much real estate), seems accurate and the meter is lit (better for the Senior eyesight).

I had been looking at the 200 for the simple fact as Dmans stated, it takes up less realestate than some other meter's.
Also, I think it would look awesome above my SS9900. :)

Your SX-400 does not read pep accurately. It is just like my SX-1000. The power supply is simply for the meter light. Take a look at the third note in the manual here. https://www.diamondantenna.net/pdfdocs/SX200&400.pdf It only reads 70-90% of true pep due to the CR circuit. The CR circuit is a Capacitor/Resistor that changes the time the meter stays at something NEAR a peak value.

I have had my SX-1000 since even before I had my ticket which I got in 1989 so it is at least 30 years old. I got it because I have only even run 100 watts and it covers HF/VHF/UHF all the way to 1.3GHz. I was able to use it even on cellular bag phones way back in the day.

I've never had a problem with the Diamond meter's I've owned (hf/vhf/uhf)(y). I'm using both SX-200 and SX-1000 versions. For just HF, the 1000 is overkill, I mainly use that one between my TS-2000 and vhf-uhf antennas.
