my old radio was beginning to show many hard years of heavy use. it will get rebuilt in the near future but for now was time for a new radio.
i read good, bad,n ugly but then every other radio i looked at was about the same. ssome liked them some hated them n some were ok

Rwb,
I'm always glad to crack you up laughing , but I was serious in asking what radio you were replacing when you purchased a new Lincoln II+ ??

I guess if you are replacing a Icom or Yaesu or Kenwood with a Lincoln II+, then yes, you screwed the pooch.

If you're replacing a Cobra 29 or something of that ilk, you chose wisely and will probably be quite happy .

The LII+ won't compare with a 99v on AM, but will be rock steady on freq, with better audio on SSB.

Hope it works for you.

rite not about anything will beat my 99v but think it this way wore out a mack and a kenworth truck.came home did many many dx talks on base . it needs a rebuild which a friend is going to do this summer. he is backlogged. im thinkin she gets rebuilt n will talk to the stars again.
i just hope this president aint like joe.

Amen to that...........

Lincoln II's are not AM powerhouses by any stretch, but the audio is much cleaner.

To know a Radio is a Love to and Hate it, Operational relationship...

Right now, they've shown about as much love as they could to one another without the power cord getting yanked out and the equipment getting thrown against the far wall.

it works better than expected. good nb anl and top notch filter. at first ssb was kinda odd but after a few hit n miss few #$^&&&*())_ words we understand each other better

words we understand each other better

Understood!

It's when the mic is keyed while those words get exchanged towards the radio and equipment, not meant for or directed intentionally to, the operators and listeners getting entertained from the learning process.

(*Gosh Darn It!*)

Had some issues with mine that were easily corrected but tough to figure out. I like the radio a lot. The Chinese don't let their engineers communicate outside China so support answers and documentation can't be obtained. I'll post the link to this group. There was a lot of mashing of teeth, but there's cheat sheets for the hidden engineering menus and such in there. There's a facebook group too that has some basic videos and such. Lots of buttons on the thing. I was super impressed with FM, although it's not used by many folks yet.
