Hi everyone, New to this site not to citizens band radio's though . Just got back into the game not a lot a DX going in the boot ( miss days when everybody had a CB and was on them ) . Found this site while contemplating what radio to purchase to use as a base unit ,as i said out of the game for a while want to see what is the latest and greatest new radios . Right now I have a Connex 3300 running on a power supply as my base unit . Disappointed about how quiet it is on the band , torn as to spend much money on another radio .

Welcome to the forum. You might look into a SSB radio, 38LSB has been rocking for several months now. DX is rolling on some of the freeband channels as well.

Freeband are the frequencies above and below the CB band. These frequencies are illegal to operate on without a license but many people use them anyway. 26.915 is very popular on AM. 9C1Driver is right about looking into a radio with sideband (SSB). Welcome to the site. There are some extremely knowledgeable people on here.
