You'd think there would be tons of bees around but maybe they're self polinating, beautiful pictures nonetheless.

I should have shot some pics of the hives. It is a big money deal here in Ca. They started putting hives out about 4 weeks ago, and the orchards are working alive, got to have them or no crop.
The honey is secondary to the money made renting the hives for pollenation of the fruit and nut trees here.

Well I have always heard that there were a lot of nuts in California.
Great pics of the trees. Glad to see that spring is in full swing out on the left coast. We still have about another month or so here before things will be in bloom.
The above reminds me of another Archie Bunker gem. "California, the land of Fruits and Nuts. Where the Nuts are alittle fruity and the Fruits are alittle nutty."

Geeesh,spring already in Ca. Spring a month away in Va. I keep hearing about all the nice WX in Maryland from my cousins there.Makes me want to move.Got another 4 inches of snow that was NOT predicted last night.The roads got rather bad with black ice last night on the way home from seeing the movie The Bucket List. Great movie BTW. The calendar says spring is in another 11 days but it seems more like 11 weeks. I do not really mind winter but I have had enough of it for this year.I'll have to post some pix of the apple trees in bloom this spring whenever that comes. They are usually in full bloom around the end of May.We have a big Apple Blossom Festival every year up here. This year is the 76'th year.Apples have been a large part of the economy starting way back in the very early 1600's.Today we produce over 3 million bushels of apples a year in our little part of the world.That's a lot of blossoms in the spring.

Great Festival. I had the honor back in the early eighties to attend the Apple Blossom Festival in Va. The Festival invited some Cadets from VA Tech to be escorts for the Queen of the festival and her court. If I remember correctly, Hal Lindon's daughter was the Queen that Year. I met him at one of the dinner partys we attended that weekend. A good time was had by all.
