I have a bnc T adapter and I have a sma to bnc adapter. If I bought (2) smiley antennas or two Identical dual bands can I tx???

Sure you can transmit but only until the finals overheat and go POP! With that config you are not making a dipole. You are simply running two antennas in parallel. The RF is split between the two antennas.

IOW, two 50 ohm antennas electrically parallel make a load of 25 ohms. Also, most repeaters use a vertical antenna. So using a dipole with a repeater that has a vertical antenna would put you out of phase by 90 degrees, and a loss of signal strength on RX and TX would occur. You could make a dipole for simplex use (not as you made above); but with so little power out of an HT it might not be practical.

Ever see an HT antenna that was 50 ohms and stayed there? If you have you are in the VAST minority of people. Also the signal would not be 90 degrees out of phase. It will be 90 degrees off in polarity but not in phase. (Being picky but accurate about that last part). An HT's signal is a mish-mash of signals of all sorts of various polarities and phase angles from multipathing.

No I haven't transmitted with that configure dont plan to. I want a easy dipole for tropoduc with the ht when hiking for simplex only !!!!
