Yes, the G5RV and other off-center fed dipoles do work on all bands, for the lowest one they are cut for, and up. But this type has no gain anywhere.


You can do better. The full wave Loop also works on all bands yet it increases in gain as you increase in frequency. Make one for 80 - although it works great on 80.... it doesn't technically have any gain there, but will show gain as you go up.


The G5RV types are compromise antennas. They will work if you can only manage two tie-off points....like any other dipole. (limited space antennas)


If you have a plenty...or at least a few trees, a square horizontal Loop (4 tie off points) would be a far superior choice.
