I got my ham ticket 20 plus years ago just after they did away with the code. Wanted to move up to general and never felt like I had the time. My answer was to study, study, study, a few minutes a day. Thats all it takes. Get your teck license and study for the General or take both at the same time. But stick to it and do it. If you want to you can do it. I used several methods but the last one I tried worked. Ham Cram look it up and figure it out. The world of ham radio is yours.Good luck and do it.

Don't have a ham license but studying a little at a time worked for me with other tests. With a hazmat endorsement on a CDL the written test must be taken again every time you renew your license. I usually get the book a couple months in advance and leave it in the bathroom, every time I take a seat in there I pick it up and read a little more. After a while it starts to sink in.

I don't fault someone who wants to stay on 11 meters but I find it interesting when I read the comments about the band being dead. Get your ham ticket and move to another band if the one you're on is dead.

That is exactly why I did it!

Being a convert as well, always a tinkerer so it was natural transition for me. I took a free course through the local club for my Basic (Canadian) and within a year had my Advanced by having reading material in the washroom at work. My co-workers just called it radio porn.

Simple, it is your choice who you QSO with, if you do not like the way they operate, don't QSO with em.

Most have found are pretty decent though they may have an superiority complex as they are TRUE hams and never were 11 meter ops.

When I find this I purposely start discussing 11 meter operations and ask the SUPER HAM what is the difference between 11 meter am operations and the crap I hear on 75 meters?(n)

Sorry dig up old post but just found it.

14.313, 7.200 and others I can't remember sound just like the
"Super Toilette Bowl"
Channel six in other words. They are the same people that organize and participate in "KEY DOWNS" while they spend money on gear that the family needs at home.
