Probably not much difference. While phased antennas can have certain benefits, they are more hype and "look cool" than anything else. *I* would mount ONE on the left side (avoids low-hanging stuff better) and try it!

Get em as far out on the mirror bracket as possible and don't worry about it. For what ever reason it does make a difference when using 2 antenna instead of 1 on a big truck, tried it both ways myself and i prefer duels over a single antenna.
