I'll get SW antenna hooked back up! Very cool contact. Shame they don't "waste some time on 11meters" ?? That would be a rare one.
Most of Africa is low on radio operators of any kind....economics? I guess? Back in the sixties and seventies it was cool to listen to SW broadcasts from Africa! SW stations are a fraction of the ones Brodcasting in those days....I wish I had those old QSL cards and station pennants now. Most are qrt
Any more of these 17-20 meter reports and will just have to some study!!!

When I get home 11m is usually dead, but did hear 4 and 218 div @4:30pm.

On 20m last night some of the stations I heard: Sudan, Senegal, Angola, and Asiatic Russia - On 17m couple Japan stations, all after 5pm in Ohio.

The Uganda DXpedition sounds like a blast to do, all those antennas and radios.
Interesting to hear few US operators trying to contact him out of band.

I sure wish some of these would work 11.... Probably get there butts in a crack or ticket pulled?
I did work Libya this morning on 11, new one for me...100 dxcc is getting close. 97 thus far....all mobile many with 20 watts.

Nice on the Libya ghutch, I heard 92div back in Oct - never heard since!

Wish this cycle would give one last push for a peak - like to get 100dxcc also!

Philpoh....I bought a book called 3Y0PI it is a journal of the planning, travel and operation from Peter Island in 1994. It was the most wanted country in the world. There has only been a handful of humans to ever touch this place! Only 12 landing on the island recorded in history? Near Antarctica it is great reading it goes into detail about planning, travel, permits, food equipment. It really gives an insight to the amounts of dedication and work these folks go through to do an activation. Check on line there are one info about it. Cool thing is this book is signed by all the expedition members?? Names and calls, Must have come from a radio operators estate?
Great reading if ya can find a copy.....
