Got an email from Ed. Says Wouxon.US aka, Import Communications is no longer dealing with Wouxon. He's pandering Anytone now.

Got the same email, I agree with his choice to drop Wouxun. I owned one for a while and even though the build quality was good I never like the way it worked. The damn thing was deaf on UHF and only on the ham bands. On UHF commercial freqs it received fine. My Baofeng runs circles around the Wouxun I had so I traded it for a non working Yaesu 901DM (which is now working).

I never liked the looks of their handhelds. I lost interest in the mobile that never really was. Initially, it sounded like an awesome rig for the money, HF receive sounded cool, but they scrapped that option and jacked the price up.

I wonder how long Ed was aware of this so called "defect" and continued to sell these smelly turds.

Judging by the email he was aware for a while. I question his ethics by continuing to to sell them but then money is a hard thing to turn down.

He's an idiot. He bleated on that they have no warranty support then complained that they say he has to send them back to China for repair which rather implies they do have warranty support.

Sorry Ed but thats what you have to do if you're an importer of a radio that doesn't have manufacturer support in your country. He'll find the situation is exactly the same from any Chinese radio manufacturer.

Baofeng UV-5R's are now 29 bucks on Amazon. At that price, if they break, you can always throw them at Ed.

73,
Brett
