After pulling my hair out trying to figure out why my Mac would not detect my
KX3, I posted the question on the Yahoo Group for help.

After about 5 minutes I got a call from Dale at Elecraft.

Here is my K.I.S.S. Firmware Upgradde Instructions.

DO NOT PLUG ANYTHING IN YET!

Download KX3 Utility for MAC OS X and install

Elecraft® Hands-On Ham Radio™

Download the FTDI Driver dmg file for MAC OS X

Virtual COM Port Drivers

Once downloaded, follow the driver installation directions, you will need to
enter your system password to authorize the driver install.

Open the KX3 Untility

Connect the KXUSB cable to ACC1 of the KX3

Connect the other end of the cable to your MAC

Click Refresh Port List

Select usbserial or similar for your port, mine is listed as usbserial-A4014ASC

Click Test Communications

Once your KX3 is detected, click the Firmware tab

Click Check Versions Now

I already had the new version (1.02) saved on my hard drive so I just browsed
for it and hi lighted the folder it was in and hit select.

I then clicked Send All Firmware to KX3

Sit back and watch, don't touch anything until is shows ready.

When I installed 1.02 it installed two sets of firmware including the DSP Update.

I did not use the Copy New Files From Elecraft since I already had the file I
needed, so someone else can chime in with what to expect when doing it that way.

Thanks Dale!!
