Can't post pics yet due to internet issues, will upload as soon as internet is straightened out.

Ok, we got a Galaxy DX 99v that has a muffled sound on transmit after about 15 to 20 minutes of talking.

I've popped the covers off and omg is all I could say. Looks to be like 3 different swing mods (1 a module which could be talkback or a noise toy and 2 of the standard swing mods which consist of a diode/resistor tied together and a diode across the rails at the regulator. No wonder he sounded muffled after 15 to 20 minutes, he's stressing those regulators and finals out, plus they removed the AMC and bypassed the alc.

I'll upload pics for entertainment purposes later, lol...

Handy Andy and nomad are gonna get a kick outta this one, hahaha...

Just needs a Mirror board, but that probably long gone...
This can be kept in, but - just sad...
This "Daisy chain" type
The BLACK wire feeds FINAL
ORANGE wire feeds the DRIVER
You can make a mirror board - use a single or dual side copper cladded board
to bring this back to OEM

This one is an NPC mod that I see all the time and even though you post NO! NOT THIS WAY! They still do this...type of install with no resistor - it REQUIRES one - so you can see the NPC mod - the Diode is correctly oriented, just missing the resistor to go along with it...

220 ohm resistor in SERIES shown with it.'
Gotta' go - fixing Din-Dins'...

Looks like a "Super Whack Pack" mod without the resistor. Also, the black wire and orange wire going from TP9 to TP8 then TP7 is the same signal, dos not look like it was volted, they used whatever wire they had on hand at the time.

And, looks like they ripped TR32 out by it's roots from the parts side, the Emitter solder pad has a hole where the Emitter leg used to be. 1205211115a.jpg

50 watts from 2 1969's, Jesus Christ....maybe 36 to 44, but good God not 50, lol...just checked it out. And the carrier, holy crap, low is 1/4 watt and high is 19.5 watts.
