North coast of the USA.... Da UP!
There is a group that has a newer idea of using an EPROM to run a BCD selector to the PLL chip to give a continuous run of channels from 26.615 to 28.305 AND the channel display is a three digit that shows -45 through 108!
Any thoughts on this?

I've been hangin there since it started. I even bought one of the original
"hand-wired" kits but never got the time to put it together yet. It's really cool isn't it? I'd like to get the newer version and give it a try,but.........
Lotsa good reading there in the group too and very knowledgeable folks too!
Slim.

I built the original weakstation Mod, works quite well but its tedious hand wiring it. Couple of the fellows in the group make a modernized version that uses a PIC Microcontroller, the pic code is not open source unfortunately, but they do sell finished Mod boards, definitely a cool add-on, I have one in a Grant XL, a 142GTL, and just bought another to put in a 148 project radio.

Works very well..

Yes. years of go.. WHERE have you been?

Ya DIP

Shoot, I've ripped the channel selector out of $6 eBay radios and replaced it with a DIP switch.

Cheap, effective, and looks like azz.

" I wonder if there is a "map" of the channels that a PLL (MB8719) can cover?

In all the repair/mod books they list different channel mods and the road maps. Might even be on cbtricks.com by now. These books have been around for 10-20 years.
