I am sure if you were running power thru it it would not hold up, but IDI was talking about using it on a CAT loader, that is rough service.
with less than 100 watts it should be fine and you can beat the crap out of it.
There is a couple of friends of mine that use the radio shack version of the same antenna, (half breed or all-terrain) on 4x4`s and they are almost indestructible.
The off road club did not want them using full length whips because one of the spotters on the trail one day got slapped hard by a 102 that was tied down, broke free from the tie down and whipped back, it broke skin and left a really nasty whelp across his forehead.
Lucky it did not take out an eye.
After that it was run a shorter whip while involved in club events, or remove it.
for less than 25 bucks, they work OK and are half the length of a full size whip.
They have there place....not as a high power antenna though.
