I have an Expo A+ kit for Cobra 29....

I need to replace the diode that comes with the kit, that goes at location D13. It's used to broadband the VCO range....

Does anyone know a replacement part number for the diode ???

You can sometimes get by without changing that diode. Just transmit on the high side of ch 40, and tweak the VCO coil until you juuuuust get it to transmit, then twist a HAIR more in the same direction. check receive on low side of 1, and if you have it, you probably wont need to replace the diode. I do not have a specific part number to give you, but in theory (never actually tried this), you could just wire another stock varactor diode in parallel with the original to get any extra tuning range you might need.

Update.....

I installed the kit, without the diode, and it works great. It locked in on all freqs without any adjustment.....

Also, I put the expo A+ in a brand new Cobra 29 LTD Classic, and the radio came from the factory with NO diode at D13 anyway :?:

I looked in one of my older 29's and it had a diode at D13 :?:
