hi all...

im living in tokyo and just bought yaesu FT-60. i need some modification to extended transmit for 144 mhz and 430 mhz. but as mentions on the net with FT-60...

FT-60R = Remove R1164
FT-60E = Leave R1164 and Remove R1165, R1166

My Yaesu FT-60 = Already missing R1164 and R1165

i tried as FT-60R and FT-60E yet still the same, no luck....

please for assistance. thank you.

thanks for the replied...

yes, i did full reset, Mon+Power On, Dial F4 (ALLRST)...Then F/W
i have read from mods.dk, since the R1164, R1165, R166 are 0.22 Ohm
My FT-60 = R1164, R1165 and R1167 already missing.

i have tried this :

for mods like FT-60R,
i removed R1166 and put to R1165 = My FT-60 never turn ON

for mods like FT-60E
i removed R1166 and put to R1164 = My FT-60 never turn ON

now, i put back the resistor to R1166, as default factory...

any other suggestions?

As you already mentioned the mods out there are for the FT-60R and FT-60E. I find no reference anywhere for an out of band mod for the FT-60. It's very possible the radio was designed to be un-modifiable.

im just trying and im too curious anyway...
if you studied the schematic and pcb layout for FT-60 (R for USA version) and (E for Europe version) with mine (Asia version) are exactly the same...
