FCC PLANS TO DROP THE BAN

One more step down the road to 100 years from now when TV will be long forgotten history.

(Nielsen has TV viewership down two years running btw . . . )

I already know many folks who don't regularly watch TV, and in some cases don't have TV in their homes.

I have TV in the home, but have no cable, satellite, or even OTA channels. I pay for Netflix and Hulu. Also have Crackle, but that's free. I pay less per month for those two than the cheapest cable service, and get tons of movies.

I get alot of network shows on Hulu and don't have to sit through Dancing With The Kitchen Idol Celebrity Edition waiting for a good show to come on.

FIOS HD yea buddy !
I personally have notice more nudity , cursing in local Programs. Which is Terrible...but what can ya do ?

If the channel is something you pay for then it is not a problem. Cable or dish channels should not be censored unless the programming material is illegal. How to make your own meth lab and modifying your AR-15 to fully auto fire I can see banning but nudity and cussing no.
Regular free channels captured by a TV antenna........then it should be banned.

Tnt, amc, fx are the main ones I watch. And of course cartoon network, MTV and jam e jaam. I wouldn't complain about HBO, cinemax etc having nude and cursing as those are not local programming channels.

Dont have cable or sat.We have free tv,outside antenna. And the FCC is mostly interested in pirate broadcasters, and also interference complaints. And they have been very active in my state,Missouri.73 de n0zna

A good example.

Philips norelco decided to air two commercials where the F'Bomb is blurred out. Both men in each commercial are in the mirror shaving and at the end they say: I'd #$%! Me. I sent them a message on Facebook and got a typical response. I'm not the only person mad about this just look at there Facebook page.

Here's my return message from Philips norelco:

Hi Jason,

Thanks for your honest feedback. We value each and every one of our customers and appreciate the opportunity to respond. The Philips Norelco campaign was developed with a specific audience in mind and we have done our best to make sure that the commercial is airing only at nighttime and on programming that caters to this audience. We apologize if it caused you any offense.

Thanks,
The Philips Norelco Facebook Team

Wrong !!!!! It aired at 3PM on CNN and even on cartoon network.

I have three TV's I'm addicted LOL joke.

I'm curious do you guys enjoy hearing people use the F word in everyday conversation ? What target of audience are they referring to?

If you took a look from the Bible's perspective
2 Timothy 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
So,this about the FCC didn't catch me by surprise.

I grew up around, you don't like hearing it, change the channel I say.

That's easy to say. So you are watching a good movie with the kids in the room playing and all of a sudden two people start arguing and throwing the F-bomb everywhere. Do you switch channels for a few minutes and then come back hoping to rejoin the movie without the crap? There should be some decency laws as to what can be broadcast on public television. Most people that have no real objections to hearing profanity on the odd occasion still don't want to hear it all the time especially as their kids are watching something. I have used a few choice words myself (trying to stop it BTW) but don't really see the need for it. One HUGE turn-off is on the Comedy channel. What is it about black stand-up comedians that they seem to feel that they must use the F-word and especially MF'er all the time during their routine? They seem to use it FAR more than other ethnic groups. I just find it way over the top.
