Yo JDChet: Don't feel bad about fixing RFI ( Radio Interference ) problems I have seen Senior Electromagnetic Engineering's walk away from RFI problems throwing their hands in the air, setting down playing with their spit and saying Coo Coo.
This science is a animal all to its own. Experimenting around with filters, bypass capacitors, chokes, sniffer type receivers, and a wild a$$ guess works some times. Good going!

See I didn't need a college "indoctrination" to sit on the floor playing with whatever!

I tried that toroid on the fridge cord and there was no difference. I did notice that when I would run the coffee maker it would kick up the noise. So I figured why not try putting the toroid close to the crap inverter? Just picked up a needed longer extension cord so I had enough length to wrap the ring. Wala! Instant success! We'll see how it works this week.Putting an even BIGGER one on the power line of a portable DOMETIC was the only thing that saved me when that compressor kicked in.
"But it goes to eleven!"Yeah, but when those Sr. Engineers retire they have learnt all sorts of fancy terms to get rolling the SSB game of, You’re Off Frequency!!, at a stressfully high speed.
Be careful ‘bout them shuffleboard old-timers.
