FireFox as fast as google Chrome?

I think so. Slim Jim over at cbradioforum posted this some time back and it just got pinned to keep it on top.

I tried it and highly recommend it if you like FireFox.

Open Firefox browser
In the address bar at the top, type in about:config
in the new window that opens, in the address bar where is says filter, type in network
Now look for these, they sit on top of each other
network.http.pipelining double click on this and it will change to "true"
right below is network.http.pipelining.maxrequests double click this and change the value to 150
now close out Firefox and reopen it

The nice thing about Google Chrome is that it supports Windows 64 bit operating systems. Doesn't have the features that Firefox has. This site -the WWRF- is best viewed with Firefox; as many other sites are as well. If one runs a 64 bit OS; then Chrome may be best...

It may just be my particular applications but I had problems with fasterfox and W7 Enterprise on my both desktop and my laptop. I will confess up front that both installs are not "stock" they have been modified to suit my needs.

This trick works like a charm on both.

Mozilla Firefox seems to be the best for me, both with Vista as well as XP.
Google Chrome is okay, but I've switched to Firefox.
I'll never use IE again, that's for sure.

I used to love IE and would not swap or even give any other browsers a chance because I was just used to IE and liked the way it was laid out.
My son the IT geek kept telling me to ditch it because of all of the vulnerabilities but I wouldn't do it.
Then one day my network got absolutely raped because of IE.
Never again.

I did that and it does actually work mucho faster, on my pc's with xp it takes forever to open then once it does it's fast, just wish I could figure out the initial opening issue.

On my laptop with windows 7 its fine but I did open the hood and give firefox the tuneup you pro151 suggested.
