But I thought that's the correct way to mount one.
By the way,for time being , I hooked up my Radio Shack omnidirectional FM outdoor mast mount antenna and hung it sideways in front of my window with the top facing Charlotte. I'm picking up four tv channels including the one I want. Cool!
I based my antenna's orientation on this.

I thought I'd raise the antenna another 3' and make a rf choke.
