Rockefeller, Rothchild, the Queen of England. Just to name a few. They make Gates look like a poor man.

LOL Do some simple research man.Don't get personal wealth and state assets confused. Queen's Wealth That link may be a couple years old but not much has changed.Perhaps there is a conspiracy to conceal her wealth.Better check out Alex Jones and see. :p

$420 million of personal wealth, hardly makes Bill Gates look poor. The small-town man I work for is worth more than the queen at $500 million.

JK Rowling, the British author of the Harry Potter books, has a personal wealth about double that of Her Royal Majesty. Rowling is a self-made billionaire.

And yes, I've helped her amass her fortune ;) !

You and me both Pat.The kids have seen all the Harry Potter movies at the theatre and we have them on DVD at home as well and now they are reading the books.

A lot of folks do not realize that most of what royality appears to own is actually owned by the state not them pesonally.I saw a report a year or two ago that if the state assets were in fact the queen's own she would be worth around 12 billion, still no where near Mr. Microsoft.

Garth - have your kids try the HP trivia at this site. The questions were submitted by kids (and a few of us "older" kids), and some of the spelling might be rwong, but it's some good mental exercise. Highest you can score is 450 points - which I've done a few times.

HP TRIVIA

Bill Gates is the richest man in usa and in the world
hands down

queen elizebth i believe is still the richest women in the world

later

Christy Walton and family, 51, $15.6 billion, Jackson, Wyoming, Wal-Mart inheritance

Alice L. Walton, 57, $15.5 billion, Fort Worth, Texas, Wal-Mart

Helen R. Walton, 86, $15.3 billion, Bentonville, Arkansas, Wal-Mart

Abigail Johnson, 44, $13 billion, Boston, Massachusetts, Fidelity

Barbara Cox Anthony, 83, $12.6 billion, Honolulu, Hawaii, Cox Enterprises

Anne Cox Chambers, 86, $12.6 billion, Atlanta, Georgia, Cox Enterprises

etc.

QE2 is not the richest woman by a looooog shot.Even Oprah Winfrey is richer.

s

Her Majesty and I go way back. She is an old friend. I know more about her personal finances than any of you will ever be allowed to know... ;)
