FRANCIS ANTENNAS

Ive never ran one of these antennas I know people did years ago and like them they must be making a comeback thats all I know people were buying Francis antennas up on ebay like crazy I didnt see them for awhile then there they were again Ill have to research them I know some had said they were pretty good antennas and afterall I have a quad magmount thats not being used how do these compare to say the Wilson 5000 E.T.C. ? I seen them on EBAY well theres different kinds I see. Are they any good?? Also whats worth trying?

Back in the day I ran an Amazer by Francis,KICK ASS antenna.If I'm not mistaken the Francis line is now a Barjan product.Another great antenna I used back then was the Powerstick by Van Ordt.

They dont make the Amazer anymore butr the 5.5 works great. I know were I can get afew Amazers but they want more than what they used to sell for due to lack of supply.

Freecell has a few aswell I am wondering if there comparible to wilson antennas 5000 1000 k40 ETC I have a new quad mag mount for the mobile and that would hold one without a doubt.

I use a five and a half footer and i think you cant beat it for the money. I also have a monkey made and have a wilson 5000 on my pickup truck. But the first two are on my semi truck.

I used a Francis on my big truck for a while, definately better than any fiberglass antenna. Useing a Wislon trucker 2000 now, works much better in my opinion both RX and DX.
